The calibration set, and what we run on it

A calibration set is digital: labelled reads you sequence yourself and upload like any other job. No physical material comes to us.

What a calibration set is

Signal from material whose sequence you already know — a control, a reference strain, a plasmid — together with the truth sequences that belong to it. You sequence it on your own instrument, convert it to BLOW5 and upload it. For an Alphabet Extension the set also carries structure information or level tables.

How the run works

The Signal Check verdict, or the feasibility report, tells you in writing what the set needs: how many reads, from what, and in what form. You upload the set to your job. The calibration run is a full digital analysis of that upload: we adapt the decoder's front end on your labelled reads, record what changed, and issue a calibration ID that later runs on the same pore and chemistry reuse. You receive a written report and, where the offer includes one, the decode of your data.
