You know the price before anything runs. From €11 per barcode.
Every job is billed on the number of signal samples in your files (Gsamples) — signal points, not file size; see Units below. We verify the exact count from the file headers on receipt, before the job runs. Per-barcode prices below apply when you multiplex: a barcode is one demultiplexed read-set in a multiplexed run.
| Item | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Signal Check | €0 | up to 5 Gsamples and up to 3 targets; one free Signal Check per institution per pore/chemistry; prioritised in our queue |
Search Run or Decode Run? A Search Run answers whether your targets are in the signal, working on the raw current without basecalling the run. A Decode Run basecalls every read and returns the full sequence, modifications and reconstruction.
| Item | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Search Run S | €249 | up to 150 Gsamples, up to 50 targets — from €11 per barcode when multiplexed |
| Search Run M | €790 | up to 600 Gsamples |
| Search Run L | from €1,590 | up to 1.5 Tsamples |
| + full outputs (FASTQ, BAM, modifications, reconstruction of the whole run) | +€199 | any size |
| Additional targets | +€49 | per further 50 targets, up to 500; larger target sets on request |
| Repeat search on a retained job | €99 | per target set of up to 50, no re-upload, while results are retained |
| Retention extension to 12 months | +€49 | per job, for repeat searches |
| Target-set curation | +€149 | we build the FASTA from names or accessions, up to 50 targets |
| Item | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Decode Run S | €349 | up to 150 Gsamples — from €15 per barcode when multiplexed |
| Decode Run M | €890 | up to 600 Gsamples |
| Decode Run L | from €1,690 | up to 1.5 Tsamples |
| XL | on request | above 1.5 Tsamples; staged upload or encrypted disk |
| Full-run .sen-lite reconstruction | on request, usually €199 | every read rather than the sampled default; we ask what it is for before we quote |
| Odd sizes | €3 per Gsample | minimum €149 |
| 5 × S bundle (Search or Decode) | €1,590 | prepaid, valid 12 months |
| Item | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Calibration — feasibility | €900 | learning curve on the reads you have; written spec of what is missing; credited to the calibration |
| Calibration | €4,900 | adaptation on your labelled reads; calibration ID; decode of up to 150 Gsamples; viewer |
| Calibration+ | on request | calibration plus 12 months of Search and Decode Runs |
| Checkpoint export | on request | the adapted front end leaves our house |
| Alphabet Extension | from €9,900 | three milestones, each contracted on its own |
| De novo assembly | on request | building a reference genome where none exists, so a Search Run has something to align to; starts with the feasibility stage |
Units
We bill on signal samples — the same term § 6(2) of the terms uses. One signal sample is one reading of the raw current, stored as a 16-bit integer (2 bytes). Gsample and Tsample are decimal: 10⁹ and 10¹² samples.
| Signal volume | Signal samples | Uncompressed size |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Gsample | 10⁹ | 2 GB |
| 5 Gsamples — Signal Check | 5 × 10⁹ | 10 GB |
| 150 Gsamples — S | 1.5 × 10¹¹ | 300 GB |
| 600 Gsamples — M | 6 × 10¹¹ | 1.2 TB |
| 1.5 Tsamples — L | 1.5 × 10¹² | 3 TB |
Your BLOW5 file is smaller than the uncompressed figure, by an amount that depends on the data. So a file size never tells you the Gsample count, and we never bill on it.
What the words mean
- Gsample10⁹ signal samples — 2 GB uncompressed. The billing unit, counted from your file headers, not from file size or bases.
- Barcodeone demultiplexed read-set in a multiplexed run. Per-barcode prices apply when you multiplex.
- Specified Search Runfinds out whether your targets are in the signal, working on the raw current without basecalling the run.
- Decode Runthe full basecalled sequence, modifications and reconstruction of every read.
Estimate your job
Which block your job falls in, from its size. It reads the same numbers as the tables above and quotes their prices unchanged.
The count is in your BLOW5 file headers. If you only know the file size, send a request anyway — we count on receipt. A file size does not tell you the Gsample count.
An estimate, not an offer. The exact count comes from your file headers, and your offer states the price before anything runs.
Notes
- All prices are net of VAT. Research Use Only.
- Institutions and universities receive an invoice on delivery, payment term 30 days from the invoice date. Companies, and first-time customers outside the EU, pay in advance.
- The turnaround for your job is stated in your offer.
- Every offer is written by a person and sent within one working day.
Billing FAQ
- Why signal samples and not gigabytes?
- Sampling rates and compression differ between instruments. A signal sample is the same everywhere.
- What if my file is uncompressed?
- Compression doesn't change the count: we bill signal samples, not bytes.
- What if I don't know my signal sample count?
- Enter the file size. We read the exact count from the headers on receipt and put it in the offer before anything runs.
- Can I pay with a purchase order?
- Yes. Send us the PO number with the request; the invoice follows delivery.
